The least adorable passengers of the week

It was 6.30 in the evening. Dinner time or cocktail time, depending on your outlook. But whatever your choice, it was after 6pm, a time when Cunard’s dress code goes into effect. No T shirts, tank tops, shorts or baseball caps are allowed. Jackets with optional ties are recommended for the men, dresses for the women. That is the very minimum. Many passengers go much further ( see my previous post on the most adorable passenger of the week) . Men wear dinner jackets and the women long evening dresses with as much jewelery as they can pile on their body.

But there is always a handful of people who choose to ignore the rules. This lovely couple had just ordered their drinks and were settling in for the evening.

They clearly wanted to make a statement. So much so that she put her feet up on the sofa. She was of course wearing sneakers. The ankle bracelets did not count as dressing for the evening.

It is time to get off this ship.

And tomorrow we will.
