And speaking of bloody tourists……………..
Ubud used to be so peaceful.
An artist’s colony full of interesting people and modern day hippies. A place to hang out, relax and re charge the batteries.
Today it drains the batteries.
The artists and the hippies are still there but they are lost in the ground swell of tacky English who don’t know how to dress for dinner

and think it is fine to put their feet on the furniture as long as they take their shoes off

And then there are the Russians. They have become the second biggest group of visitors to Bali behind Australians, and they are even more unpopular, famed for their rude and often aggressive behaviour. So much so, that Bali is now seeking ways to refuse them visas. They come here to evade enlistment into their war. They overstay their visas, try to get jobs, and end up dealing drugs or organizing crime. Hotels dread having them stay.
Over and over again we hear “Whenever we get reports about a foreigner behaving badly, it’s almost always Russian.”
And yet I met this lovely young Russian woman who was so excited when I asked if I could take her photo. She immediately struck a pose. She had what appears to be mandatory for all Russian women – trout lips and flashy accessories.

You have to admit, you don’t see a flower like that on a swimming costume every day of the week. Be thankful! I really wanted to see what happened when she went for a swim!
But give them a drink and

They have taken over the mantle of most unpopular tourist which has been worn by the Australians for so many years. But the Australians are still here, and so easy to spot

I think this will be our last trip to Bali. It makes us sad but there are so many other places to see.
Maybe it will be Australia next

Or not!
Stay tuned.
And that is goodbye for now.
