Finally the day has come. We are going to visit the Taj Mahal. It is one of the true wonders of the world and I have decided to dress accordingly. My usual colourfully dishevelled look won’t do at all. The Taj calls for something classic . Plus it must look good against all that white marble. I have never found dressing to go sight seeing quite so demanding, and classy but understated is not a look I am used to (quiet in the back)
We have been told that there will be remarkably few people visiting the Taj today as it is a holiday. We arrive to find the place deserted.
I of course want my photograph taken and look for the perfect spot. I find a little bench to sit on. Somehow smiling doesn’t seem right in this setting, so I go for a contemplative and slightly wistful look. Gordon takes a moment to frame the shot perfectly and takes a photo that I will forever treasure.
Now I look at the photo, I think I chose the perfect outfit, but maybe my wistful look could be mistaken for being a little grumpy.
Well traveling with Gordon is never easy
Sadly that was all a dream. I am not a princess (I have asked you already, be quiet in the back) and the place was packed
While I recognise that I am not a princess, Gordon still has delusions of grandeur. Now would be the time for those of you in the back to speak up……
So many people have written so eloquently about the beauty of this building that I am not going to attempt to describe it. I will say that rarely does anywhere or anyone live up to the hype that surrounds it. But the Taj not only lives up to it, it exceeds expectations.
It is breathtakingly beautiful
