It’s Tea Time

Oceania Cruises advertises itself as the best fine dining experience on the seas.

And it is.

BUT…………………….

they are suffering from the “bucket and spade” brigade.

Their restaurants are smart and upscale, and the recommended dress code after 6pm is “country casual”.

But some people seem to come from a country where shorts and T shirts fits that description.

Do I hear a chorus of “England”

It is becoming quite the hot topic. Many feel it is destroying the whole experience. Oceania no longer feels classy.

However, all is not lost. At tea time there are two wonderful women who come to tea in a different outfit every day ……..with matching hats

They are sort of fabulous.

When I ask how many hat boxes they have, they tell me that they have all their hats made specially so that they can crunch them up in a suitcase. Now that’s classy!

They are utterly charming and obviously having a great time. They are a delight!

I tell them that they make my day, and ask if I can take their photo.

They beam with delight, and take several minutes to get the right pose.

You have got to love them!.

Dear readers, I have to admit that I have been under the weather for a lot of this cruise and have not been out and about, which is why I have been quiet for a while (do I hear cheering!), so this will probably be the last blog.

So, until next time………..

Crystal ought to be better than Oceania – they are a completely different price range! We have always loved Oceania and Seabourn. But unfortunately Crystal screwed us royally. We lost $20,000 when they went bankrupt. The new owners offered us a credit that had to be used within a year. We couldn’t use it within that time frame as we were already booked on other ships. We lost the money. Not the way to keep customers.
However we are sailing with them in March – so we shall see !!
